YEREVAN. – There are serious corruption risks in the state procurement system of Armenia. 

Transparency International Anti-corruption Center analyst Artak Manukyan stated the aforesaid during a press conference on Tuesday. 

In his words, purchases from one person are gradually increasing, and the arguments on their urgency are dubious.    

In addition, as per Manukyan, it is visible that some state-run agencies give the preference to some participants.   

Specifically, the regional halls of Armenia prefer to make purchases from one person.  

According to Artak Manukyan, there are numerous cases when one organization has signed a contract with a state-run agency four times a year and without competition. What is more, they are primarily either unknown organizations or are linked to state officials.
