YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan visited new monument to famous Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents in the town of Charentsavan.

The opening of the monument was held within the framework of events dedicated to the 115th anniversary of Yeghishe Charents held on October 14-22.

Mayor of Charentsavan awarded the authors of the best compositions dedicated to the great Armenian writer. The winner of the contest opened the monument.

A concert of national music and dances was held in the main square of Charentsavan.
