YEREVAN. – Unemployment is one of the main obstacles for Armenia’s development, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia said.

During the Thursday media conference, Bradley Busetto noted that finding solution to this problem depends on the government, but UNDP is ready to provide assistance.

UNDP is carrying out a number of programs in the regions, Busetto said, urging to follow the programs.

He stressed that it is not only about financial support, the best example is success story that will attract other people and will lead to overall development. For example, UNDP supported establishment of greenhouses in Tavush Region.

“Not all farmers got a good harvest at the beginning. But they exerted efforts and in the end achieved success,” Busetto added.

The small staff and UNDP budget in Armenia will not prevent from launching programs with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, he resumed.
