Armenia’s decision to join Customs Union was not “a free choice”, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė told RFE/RL.

President Grybauskaitė said they are sorry for the decision, since Armenia has made considerable progress on reforms and in fact was ready for signing of the Association Agreement in Vilnius.

“However, last minute Armenians did not manage to resists the pressure. It was not a free choice,” she said.

Lithuania is currently holding the EU presidency and will host Eastern Partnership summit in November.
