YEREVAN. – “Justice has two saddles. The righteous saddles up in a forthright direction, [whereas] the unjust, in any direction. I am deeply convinced that the process which you have started again is not only political, but also righteous, ethical and forthright.”

Opposition Republic Party Chairman and former PM Aram Sargsyan stated the aforesaid during Saturday’s founding re-establishment congress of opposition Armenian National Movement (ANM).

“The decision to reinstate the ANM is a new beginning and also a return to the origins of the establishment of the third republic [of Armenia],” Sargsyan added.

Next to take the floor was opposition Heritage Party Board Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan. He noted that their colleagues were compelled to reopen the ANM party, and he hoped for cooperation.

On his part, opposition Democratic Motherland Party Chairman Petros Makeyan likewise congratulated the ANM, but agreed with Martirosyan that the ANM has a controversial track-record. He expressed a view that together they can take Armenia out of the crisis.

In his remarks, opposition Conservative Party leader Mikayel Hayrapetyan stressed that the times are difficult for Armenia’s political parties, there are plenty of things to do in the country, but they will be suitable for all parties.
