Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi kissed the hand of Libya’s leader Muammar Gaddafi at Arab League Summit in Libyan city of Sirte on March 27, Turkish media informs. The report is accompanied by a photo.

Berlusconi was the only European leader to attend the summit. Italian PM stooped to kiss Gaddafi’s hand to emphasize his sincerity to Gaddafi. The scandal came under criticism by Italian society and media.

In 2008 Berlusconi apologized to Libya, a former colony of Italy from 1911-1943. Italian PM promised to invest U.S. $ 5 billion in Libya.
