Leaders of oppositional Georgian parties warned authorities about possible repetition of Kyrgyz events in the country in case the arrests of oppositionists go on.
April 8, police detained eight protestors – oppositional National Council’s representatives for blocking the road in Digomi district of Tbilisi.
According to Novosti-Georgia, opposition protested against authorities’ pressure on publishing houses.
“Revolution followed arrests of political leaders in Kyrgyzstan. If Saakashvili and Merabishvili (Interior Minister) dare to lay a finger on oppositionists, they power will end, as it was in Kyrgyzstan” said Koba Davitashvili – leader of People’s party.
