YEREVAN. – By making a decision to join Customs Union, Armenia clarified its political course, MP from ruling Republican Party said.

Karine Achemyan admitted that the gas agreements with Russia contain questionable points, but “you cannot say that the National Assembly is divided into a group of heroes and a group of traitors.”

“I think it is a betrayal to hold such an action when our president is heading to Moscow for talks,” she noted.

The MP is confident we must look deeper into the problem.

“Ensuring security is not just words. We must do everything possible to pass this difficult way and gain more than lose,” she added.

A number of agreements on gas supplies were signed during Russian president Vladimir Putin’s visit to Armenia. The agreements provide selling 20 % of ArmRugazprom shares to Gazprom at the expense of accumulated debts.
