YEREVAN. – The heated debates on amendments to the law on nature protection and environment payments have not affected relations between the Minister of Nature Protection and MPs, Minister Aram Harutyunyan told reporters.

“It was a working debate. I personally did everything to return the discussion to the field of debates,” Harutyunyan emphasized.

The draft bill on amendments to the law on nature protection and environment payments received harsh response from several MPs. The debate turned into an argument and insults. The MPs complained about Minister’s behavior, claiming he gave no precise answers to their questions.

As regards several MPs’ engagement in fish business, the Minister said allegations would not affect his work. He assured that the Ministry is not pressed by anyone.

“I see no link between fish farms and Mr. Abrahamyan [speaker of the National Assembly –ed.]. We have held discussions and he helped us,” Harutyunyan added.
