April 23 morning Georgian miners of Chiatura and Zestaphoni went on a two-week token strike.
April 20 trade unions staged a one-day warning strike, presenting demands to the authorities, that were not met. However despite the leadership resistance a strike committee was formed to approve the letter with demands. Intern alia wage increase for 50%, allowance of paid 35-day vacations, conclusion of termless labor contracts, improvement of working conditions etc.
