European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton plans to convey a meeting of EU foreign ministers to discuss situation in Ukraine, Iraq and Gaza.

EU High Representative is ready to hold a meeting this week, but the office is clarifying whether the EU countries are ready, ITAR-TASS reported quoting deputy spokesperson Sebastien Brabant.

Earlier Reuters, quoting its sources, reported that France and current EU president Italy supported the idea of a meeting.
