YEREVAN. – Eurasian Economic Union offers Armenia hypothetical economic possibilities, secretary of Heritage party Tevan Poghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“The document on Armenia's accession to Eurasian Union is a hypothetical possibility until real steps are made. Is Armenia ready? Much has been said about the investments, but I do not believe that investments will be carried out on the territory of the Eurasian Union,” he said.
Poghosyan added that much is spoken about exports, but Armenia “hardly did anything for the exports”, and will be unable to use the opportunity. The entrepreneurs who used exporting goods will simply continue doing so, he emphasized.
The politician said that the only hypothetical advantage of joining Eurasian Union may concern migrant workers only.
“However, taking into account economic situation in Russia, many migrant workers will simply come back to Armenia. The problem is that our economy is not ready to such a turn, and the government is incapable to provide jobs,” he resumed.
