YEREVAN. – There are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in Armenia as of Monday at 9am, reported the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

Accordingly, the Berd-Chambarak and Sotk-Karvachar Highways are closed, and the Vardenyats (Selim) Mountain Pass and the Goris-Sisian motorway are difficult to pass.

In addition, there is black ice on some sections of the Yerevan-Sevan Highway.

The road crews are scattering salt and sand on the roads to ensure safe travel. 

The ministry advises drivers to use winter tires in their vehicles.

And according to the information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia, the country’s Stepantsminda-Larsi Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is closed due to heavy snowfall.
