YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Finance of Armenia hopes to attract large investors, Deputy Minister Vakhtang Mirumyan stated on Thursday.

Mirumyan noted the aforesaid commenting on the government-approved amendments to the Law on Profit Tax. Accordingly, the profit tax in Armenia is planned to drop from 20 percent all the way to 2 percent for the major exporters of the country, and if they meet several respective requirements.

As per the deputy minister, the negotiations to attract investors, who may become such large-scale exporters, are in progress.

“I believe you will soon hear about the investment decisions. The tax incentive we offer is quite sizable,” Mirumyan added.

But this benefit will not apply to the mining companies.
