YEREVAN. – The Ukrainian side has not yet received an invitation to visit events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial, Ukraine's Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta said.
The diplomat emphasized that the 1915 events were a great tragedy for the Armenian people. In this regard he recalled a tragic chapter of the Ukrainian history.
“As a result of deliberate actions by Stalin regime, 4-4.5 million people died of starvation,” he said, adding that Ukraine is raising the issue of recognizing Holodomor as a genocide.
Armenia and Ukraine will do everything so that these tragedy could be remembered, he assured.
At the same time the diplomat said he was not aware who had been invited to the Centennial events. The Ukrainian embassy has not received an invitation yet.
