YEREVAN. – The ongoing military exercises in Azerbaijan will not have serious military and political consequences, political analyst Sergey Minasyan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, the Armenian side already recorded that Azerbaijan has violated the provisions of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe.

“Azerbaijan has violated, from the very beginning, this treaty’s provisions from the perspective of the quantity of arms,” Minasyan noted.

The analyst added that, unlike the military maneuvers which were held in Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani armed forces have not yet been unable to conduct an actual organized military exercise at the level of military units.

To note, the Azerbaijani military drills have kicked off on Monday, and they are conducted under the command of President Ilham Aliyev.
