YEREVAN. – In January 2015, the Armenian side suffered seven, whereas the Azerbaijani side sustained over thirty casualties as a result of the ceasefire violation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

Gegham Harutyunyan, the adviser to the Minister of Defense of Armenia, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.

“The reprisal actions of the Armenian side are higher in their effectiveness. The adversary sustains more losses, yet this does not change the political course of Azerbaijan,” Harutyunyan added.

In his words, even though the border incidents have reduced, there is still tension on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, and, if necessary, the Armenian side will continue its preventive and punitive actions.
