French scientists have received an artificial human sperm in the laboratory.

Representatives of the French company Kallistem informed about the creation of this sperm in a test tube, Lenta.ru reported citing The Independent.

The Kallistem representatives said they had received a full sperm from undeveloped spermatogonia — stem cells made by biopsy from the tests of patients.

Previously, this procedure was successfully carried out on mice.

Now, scientists plan to ensure its safety in preclinical trials, and in 2017, promise to give birth to a child from men suffering from infertility.
