The Global Day of Parents is observed on June 1 every year.

The Day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2012 with a special resolution. 

The Global Day of Parents is celebrated every year since 2013.

The objective of this holiday is to remind the people of our planet about universal values, protect these values, and establish them as the foundation for a strong and ethical family, reported Calend.

The UNGA calls on all UN member states to join the observance of this day.

It is noteworthy that the Global Day of Parents is marked on the same day as the International Day for Protection of Children.
