A resident of Penang state in Malaysia fell eight floors from a condominium into a garage roof and punctured it, but he remained alive, Star reported citing the eyewitnesses.

“After falling from such a height, he could still make a call and tell his father what happened,” one eyewitness said, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

According to the neighbors, the man, who is an advertising worker, could be suffering from depression and that might be why he jumped off the building.

If it is confirmed that this was a suicide attempt, he will be sentenced to prison because the Malaysian penal code considers suicide a felony.
