YEREVAN. – Armenia demonstrated an example of humanitarian approach in the search for the bodies of the missing Azerbaijani soldiers.
Military analyst Arkadi Grigoryan stated the aforementioned commenting, at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, on the willingness that the Armenian side manifested in the search for these soldiers.
According to information, two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed in an explosion at a mined neutral zone on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
The Armenian side expressed willingness to create conditions for search activities. Accordingly, it permitted the Azerbaijan MOD representatives to enter the neutral zone yet maintained the ceasefire. As a result, the bodies of the dead Azerbaijani soldiers were found and taken out.
In an earlier similar situation, however, the Azerbaijani side had demonstrated the completely opposite approach. After they had shot down an Armenian military helicopter on a training flight, they had fired intensive shots toward the crash site, thus, not allowing access to the area.
Grigoryan stressed that he cannot even compare these two different approaches.
“The Armenian side did not and will not do that,” said the Military analyst. “Armenia demonstrated, this time as well, that the humanitarian path is the only one for a progress in creating a climate of trust.”
