Armenia’s Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan today visited Aragatsotn province of the country.

He visited the Varga Food LLC in Bazmaghbyur village and Karbi Fruit Company in Karbi village.

The Minister also headed to the famous apple gardens in Karbi. According to the gardeners, this year is expected to be more fruitful than the previous one.

The Minister also visited the community in Khnaberd, where an agricultural cooperative including 151 farmers was established.

Welcoming the initiative of the cooperative, the Minister said that about 10,5 km long irrigation system is planned to be constructed there in the framework of the international CARMAC project. The project is implemented in 12 communities of Aragatsotn province.

“The sphere has seen considerable progress this year: sowing of crops has increased by 2350 ha, and the cultivation areas have grown by 2750 ha, the crop yield being quite high,” the Minister told Armenian News – NEWS.am, summing up the results of his visit.
