YEREVAN. - Investigation of the death of Armenian maternity patient Meri Margaryan, 26, and her newborn daughter is underway.
Marine Tovmasyan, representative of the victims' legal successor, told Armenian News- NEWS.am the results of the expert examination have not yet been received.
According to her, Meri Margaryan’s relatives are being questioned.
Meri Margaryan died on July 29. Her relatives blame “Shengavit” medical centre doctor Shushanik Bakhshyan for the tragedy. According to the brother of the late woman, Meri had been running high temperature for several days, but the doctor was calming her down, advising to take paracetamol. The woman was hospitalized at the insistence of her relatives, but she felt worse in the hospital. Then it was decided to move her to the multi-specialized “Erebouni” medical centre, where Meri had Caesarean section, 2 days after which she died. The following day her newborn daughter passed away as well.
In its statement, “Shengavit” medical centre claims Meri Margaryan didn’t have high temperature and wasn’t complaining of cough. However, according to her relatives, in “Erebouni” medical centre they were told Meri had double pneumonia.
