Armenian News – NEWS.am has many times referred to the subject of opening a malting plant in Armenia, based on domestic raw materials. Union of Russian Brewers responded to those publications about the aforementioned project.

The phrases “Armenian malt” and “Armenian malting barley” will soon no longer surprise the representatives of the global malting and brewery community.

We wish our Armenian colleagues – Beer of Yerevan, Gyumri Beer breweries and first of all Armenian agricultural producers - success in the development of the set plans. We also wish Armenia’s Economy Minister close cooperation with our Union in working on the common project of the EEU states, namely the technical regulation “On the security of alcohol production,” the note reads.

The malting plant in Armenia’s Gyumri city is planning to buy the first batch of barley from the farmers this year.
