Armenian News-NEWS.am received information from the news service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

Accordingly, an army truck on Wednesday rolled several meters into a gorge, en route from Koti village to the Koghb military unit in the Tavush Province.

As a result, the truck driver, military serviceman Babken Sarukhanyan, 50, died while Officer Artak Andreasyan, 48, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized.

Sarukhanyan was serving in the Armed Forces of Armenia for eight years.

Feliks Melikyan, the prefect of Koti community where Babken Sarukhanyan was from, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The two were in the vehicle,” added Melikyan. “We don’t know the details of the incident; the law enforcement authorities are working [on it].”

Babken Sarukhanyan has three children.
