YEREVAN. – The German Ambassador to Armenia, Bernhard Matthias Kiesler, hopes to see—during his diplomatic term in Armenia—a match between the national football squads of Armenia and Germany.

Kiesler noted the above-said at Saturday’s opening ceremony of the international charity football tournament organized by the Embassy of Germany in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia (PHOTOS).

“Football always brings people together, and I’m very happy that quite a lot of teams are taking part in this tournament today,” the ambassador said. “I would like to wish that Armenia’s national team would always been strong. (…). I believe Armenia will have a greater chance in the next qualifying phase, since there are no low- and high-class teams today.”

Football teams from several embassies and international organizations in Armenia as well as the squad from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country are competing in this tournament.
