YEREVAN. – The TaTever (Wings of Tatev) aerial tramway of Armenia has turned five years old.

Around 430,000 and 90,000 passengers have used this cable car system since its launch and the first nine months of this year, respectively. 

The inception of TaTever has increased tourist inflow to the region, and this has paved the way for the development of respective infrastructure in the area.

“The ropeway also contributes to the development of the ‘Southern Corridor’ direction of the republic,” said Hayk Tutunjyan, the Tatev Revival Project Manager.

The TaTever is registered in the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest (5.7km) two-way cable car system, and as the aerial tramway that is built in the shortest period of time (10 months) in the world.
