Armenia may become the first country closely cooperating with both the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the European Union (EU), Polish expert Mateus Piskorski, Director of the European Centre for Geopolitical Analysis, told Armenian News – NEWS.am. 

According to him, Armenia is now trying to hold a constructive dialogue with the EU, and this shows that if Yerevan manages everything, Armenia may become a kind of bridge between the Eurasian Economic and European Unions. “I hope very much that Armenia will actually be the first country to manage to closely cooperate with two integration blocks. We realize very well that these two blocks are destined to close cooperation but for the current political reasons. I hope that the Armenian diplomats will manage to draw up a cooperation scheme, which will correspond to the interests of both blocks and first of all to those of Armenia itself,” Piskorski said.

On October 12, FMs of EU member states adopted a mandate in Luxembourg for launching the talks between Armenia and EU on concluding a new legal document for future cooperation.
