YEREVAN. – Armenia has an intention to deepen cooperation with the European Union that will be in accordance with its obligations to the Eurasian Economic Union and CIS, Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan said during his meeting with German Ambassador Matthias Kiesler.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the Minister noted that good relations are established between Armenia and Germany, and the German government had always supported the development and expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Kiesler thanked for the warm reception and expressed his willingness to contribute to the expansion and deepening of bilateral relations. The ambassador was asked to present the proposed areas for cooperation.

Karen Chshmaritian highlighted the possibility of the involvement of German companies in large infrastructure projects, such as the Iran-Armenia railways, the North-South Road Corridor and other projects in the energy sector.

The Minister offered to organize a business forum next year to promote cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.

Ambassador Kiesler showed interest in the process of talks on new agreement between Armenia and EU. Minister Chshmarityan said Armenia has an intention to deepen its ties with the European Union.

The sides discussed issues of economic cooperation.
