YEREVAN. - Children centers in Armenian Diaspora communities are interested in toys from Armenia. The representative of Armenia-based Actic toys company Artak Zakaryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the toy consignments have already been sent to the communities in France and U.S.

The wood used for making the toys is completely Armenian. Almost everything in the production is local but for the paints. This is mainly a family production, which also includes several craftsmen. “As to the paints, we first of all request from the suppliers a certification on the absence of harmful admixtures. In the same manner, we got a certificate of safety from the National Institute of Standards. We think safety must be not the important but the most important concern in case of the goods for children,” Zakaryan said.  

Responding to the question on whether they manage to compete with the Turkish and Chinese producers, he said: “We’re trying to do that by price. But out consumers - that is, parents - think of the safety of children exactly the way we imagine. And when we explain in the shop the advantages in terms of safety, the price stops being essential for them.”
