YEREVAN. - Official reception on occasion of the 97th anniversary of the independence of the Czech Republic took place in Yerevan today.

The reception was attended by the Vice President of the Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov, Deputy FMs Ashot Hovakimyan and Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, other Armenian dignitaries, politicians and public figures, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia.

In his speech delivered at the event opening, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Armenian Peter Mikiska stressed that his country is continuing to develop comprehensive relations with Armenia. “We are also gradually developing the economic cooperation contributing to the satisfaction of business interests of both countries for the prosperity of our nations,” Mikiska said.

For his part, Parliament Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov said that the diplomatic relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic were established back in 1993. “Armenia is interested in developing comprehensive cooperation with the Czech Republic. The proof of this was the official visit of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan to the Czech Republic,” Sharmazanov said.

“The state relations between Armenian and the Czech Republic are on the highest level,” he concluded.
