YEREVAN. – Armenia will join the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) procedure for conducting an in-depth inspection of the origins of imported goods.

The decision to join the respective protocol, which was signed on September 11, was made at Thursday Cabinet session.

The Minister of Economy, Karen Chshmarityan, stated at the meeting that the said protocol is designed to check the authenticity of the data on the origins of these products.

In case of suspicions, the customs authorities of the importing country can send a request to the authorities of the exporting country for receiving additional information confirming the origins of these goods.
