Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told about a phosphorus bomb that fell in his apartment during a diplomat work in Lebanon.

In an interview with the magazine of MGIMO, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Nalbandian said he appeared in Lebanon during a civil war after he graduated from the institute.

“At a certain period, the war entered a critical phase. Shells were falling on the territory of the embassy, a phosphorus bomb fell in my apartment and smoldered there for a week. Almost all the Soviet embassy staff was evacuated, leaving only some diplomats led by a very wise man - Ambassador Alexander A. Soldatov,” the Minister said.

Minister Nalbandian also said that the diplomats often worked and lived in a basement that served as a bomb shelter.
