YEREVAN. – Russia is fighting against terrorists and not the establishment of “multipolar” world, rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) Anatoly Torkunov told the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

“Terrorists in Syria have set themselves a task to spread their influence not only in the Middle East, but in the CIS and Russia. They have repeatedly proved that the human life is worth nothing for them. In my opinion, a 'multipolar' world can be established by diplomatic means only,” he said.

According to him, it is impossible to negotiate with terrorists, there is only one way to ensure peace – to destroy them.

“Russia has taken this path. We are invited by Syria to carry out such actions and we act in accordance with the norms of the United Nations. And I hope that joint efforts will yield positive results in the fight against international terrorism,” Mr. Torkunov resumed.
