YEREVAN. – The number of guests to the three-day Yerevan Show 2015 fifth international jewelry exhibition, which opened on Saturday, has increased this year.
Chairman Gagik Gevorgyan of the Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA), which has organized this event, told the aforementioned to reporters (PHOTOS).
“This exhibition has gained worldwide recognition,” Gevorgyan said. “It’s a place where we [i.e. Armenia] show our production and call the buyers.”
Famous brands as well as participants in and winners of international jewelry exhibitions are represented at Yerevan Show 2015.
“Since the congress of the World Jewellery Confederation shall take place in Armenia next year, (…) our country will become the center of the jewelry industry of the world,” the AJA director added. “Our objective is to turn Armenia into a [jewelry] manufacturer country (…) because each country is rich with its production and factories.”
To note, Armenia is the only country in the world where a jeweler’s national day is celebrated at state level, and on the last Sunday of each October.
