On Friday, a total of 33,000 square meters of demined areas were officially handed over to the local self-government bodies at Srashen village and rural community in the Syunik Province of Armenia.

At the end of the event, Syunik Deputy Governor Vache Grigoryan expressed gratitude to the chief of the US Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation, John Friel, and highly commended the respective donor support provided by the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA) of the US Department of State.

Subsequently, Friel officially presented to the mayor of Srashen the certificates which attest to the safety and security of these demined areas.
