The largest garden of Armenian-German friendship will be founded in the largest botanical garden in Dortmund, Germany.

Chairman of the Armenian Academic Association of Germany, Azat Ordukhanyan, said the aforementioned at a press conference on Saturday.

In his words, the said botanical garden will be the world’s sixth largest one to have an Armenian section.

Ordukhanyan recalled that the first Armenian-German friendship garden was established in April in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, the second one was opened in the German city of Bochum, and third one was founded in Armenia’s Yeghegnadzor town.

“President of the German Bundestag [ i.e. the Parliament], Norbert Lammert, has assumed the sponsorship of the project,” he stressed.

Azat Ordukhanyan added that the respective tree-planting is devoted to the 155th anniversary of the Armenian Academic Association of Germany.
