YEREVAN. – Industrial ecosystems need to be created in Armenia.

“For Sustainable Human Development” NGO Director, environmentalist Karine Danielyan, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Saturday.

She noted that industrial waste processing plants need to be set up around the country’s industrial enterprises that leave such waste behind.

Danielyan also said the Armenian government should provide tax incentives for such eco-industrial zones and make the respective loans more affordable.

The expert added that environment protection awareness needs to be developed in Armenia from a school age. In this connection, the Chair of Ecology and Sustainable Development at the Armenian State Pedagogical University has petitioned to the Ministry of Education and Science, with a proposal to prepare a respective program of study for the higher grades of the country’s schools.
