YEREVAN. - Legal relations related to cargo transportation and railway will be solved according to the norms of the Agreement on International Railway Freight Communications, (SMGS). Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication, Artur Arakelyan, stated the aforementioned in the parliament today, introducing the amendments to the Law on Railway Transport.

The “South Caucasus Railway” CJSC,
Armenian railway operator, also works according to SMGS, whose members are the post-Soviet republics

According to Arakelyan, these provisions should be included in the national legislation to give maximally clear decisions to all the possible disputes.

The amendments propose to regulate the issues on spotting/picking and car servicing, loading and storage of goods.

“When one some service is provided by one economic entity, the negotiation positions of his clients are very weak. We want to enhance them,”the Deputy Minister said.
