The US is trying to reduce tension at the Karabakh conflict zone.

US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce stated the aforesaid speaking at a discussion, reported the Voice of America Armenian Service.

Last week, and at Congressman Royce’s initiative, the abovementioned committee convened a closed discussion devoted to the resolution of this conflict. Ambassador James Warlick, the US Co-Chair of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, which deals with the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, also attended this event.

Earlier, Ed Royce and House Foreign Affairs Committee member Eliot Engel had sent a letter—supported by 85 House colleagues—to the US Department of State, and regarding the resolution of this conflict.

Royce noted that he and Engel are trying to reduce the temperature in the region.

The US State Department welcomed the Royce-Engel Karabakh peace initiatives.

And Ed Royce had called on James Warlick for a Karabakh briefing on the Azerbaijan aggression.
