[I’m] Sorry to see Armenian ombudsman [Karen Andreasyan] resign. Nils Muižnieks, Council of Europe (CoE) Commissioner for Human Rights, wrote on his Twitter page today.

He also expressed gratitude to Andreasyan for cooperation and wished him good luck.

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Karen Andreasyan, submitted his resignation Tuesday. According to the Facebook page of the Human Rights Defender’s Office, he thanked all his partners for the joint work, expressing hope that the protection of human rights will remain a priority of the Armenian state and society. The statement also says that there will be no other comments in this connection.
