YEREVAN. – Ever since the establishment of Armenian-American diplomatic relations, the bilateral ties have always developed.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan noted the aforementioned at his talk Thursday with Charles Kupchan, Senior Director for European Affairs on the US National Security Council and Chief Assistant for European Affairs to the US President.

Press Service of the President of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the President highly praised the bilateral high-level mutual visits between the two countries, and expressed the hope that Kupchan’s visit to Armenia will likewise contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation.

In addition, Sargsyan thanked the US for its assistance rendered to Armenia, and underscored the American government’s continuous efforts to ensure stability in the region.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors reflected on several matters of mutual interest, including the Karabakh conflict. 

Charles Kupchan, for his part, noted that the US highly appreciates Armenia’s dedication to its international commitments toward achieving world peace and security, and stated that Armenia stands ready to contribute to the respective efforts by NATO and other organizations.
