YEREVAN. - The intergovernmental agreement with Madagascar in the sphere of culture brought about much irony in 2015. Responding to the question of Armenian News – NEWS.am on whether the mentioned agreement can be considered as achievement of last year, Armenia's Culture Minister proposed to mentally shift to Madagascar: “Imagine that you and I are Madagascar citizens and say: “Who are actually those Armenians? ” The agreement is signed so that the two nations can know each other better.”
She stressed that any nation and culture deserves respect. “And we take a very dangerous path when trying to deride another culture. I always firmly deny this. The more often and livelier Armenia communicates with different countries of the world, the stronger our nation will be. The thing is that we are constantly trying to isolate ourselves and look at other nations otherwise,” Poghosyan said.
Madagascar has a very interesting ethnography, which Armenia can also learn. “There are no supreme cultures and nations. All the cultures deserve attention,” she said.
