YEREVAN. - The forthcoming discussion of the anti-Armenian reports in PACE is the result of the relations between Russia and the West. Ara Papyan, former Armenian Ambassador to Canada and Head of the “Modus Vivendi” Analytical Center, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent. According to him, the West looks upon Armenia as Russia's derivative.

“The whole world looks at Russia the way we do at Turkey, and this is very deeply rooted. The relations with Russia to our detriment are rather deep. The West looks upon us as Russia's derivative and thus the attitude changes and [such] reports come about.  When PACE MPs see that we are on the side of the empire of evil, they must vote against us, that's the thing,” he said.

Responding to the question on Azerbaijan's anti-Karabakh lobbying and bribing of the international politicians, Papian said: “Azerbaijan had caviar ten years ago, didn't it? Why didn't the caviar method work ten years ago but started working now? They don't understand that Europeans can take both caviar and brandy from you, and still do what is beneficial for them. This is a mistake of geopolitical orientation,” Papian said.

In two weeks, reports entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan,” and “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water” will be put to vote at the forthcoming  PACE session.
