Italy is against the allocation of means in the amount of €3 to Turkey, which the EU Commission demanded from the EU for suppressing the flow of migrants to EU, RIA Novosti reports, citing the diplomatic source in Brussels.
“Italy blocks this decision yet, since it’s planned to allocate €1 billion from the EU budget, while the remaining €2 billion will be provided to the member-states,” the agency interlocutor said.
Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel stated that Turkey plays a decisive role in the decision on migrant crisis.
During the talks held by the end of November, Turkey agreed to help the EU to cope with the migrant flow after the EU Commission approved the allocation of €3 billion to the country.
