During his visit to Turkey, the U.S. Vice President Joe Biden called the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) a dangerous terror group.  

“IS is not the only existential threat to the people of Turkey, the PKK is equally a threat and we are aware of that. It is a terror group plain and simple and what they continue to do is absolutely outrageous,” Biden said at the joint press-conference with the Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul.  He also noted that the Turkish leadership tried to agree on peace but useless, and thus the country has no other choice but to show its political will towards the settlement of the issue, and do their best to ensure the safety of its citizens.  

However, unlike Davotoglu, Biden didn’t call the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party - which Ankara considers to be linked with PKK - a terror group, RIA Novosti reports.
