YEREVAN. - The failure of MP Robert Walter’s report “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan” is a diplomatic success according to the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

The party spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am after the RPA Executive body session.

“Both resolutions were anti-Armenian, but Walter’s report was the one which contained the main pro-Azerbaijani danger: the danger was serious since through the report Azerbaijan tried to discuss the Karabakh conflict in other parallel platforms, which is unacceptable. The prevention of this initiative was very important, being a success for our diplomacy,” Sharmazanov said.

The Spokesman also noted that he doesn’t agree with the announcements that those reports were merely pieces of paper.

“PACE is a serious organization, and the reports are not pieces of paper. On the other hand, they can’t be binding. We should work together and realize that there are delegations which vote against Armenian regardless of the content. We are the ones who must be the initiators,” he said.
