Germany is for intensifying the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict talks within the framework of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is also the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, told the aforesaid reflecting on Germany’s current OSCE Chairmanship.

Steinmeier said he would not like to reconcile with the fact that such conflicts are called “frozen,” that people suffer from them year after year, and these conflicts hinder the development of the respective regions.

He added that they plan to stabilize the ceasefires, build confidence, and ease the local people’s everyday life by small but concrete steps.

In the German FM’s words, the armed clashes along the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict Line of Contact and on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border cause concern.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier added that, in this connection, creating a mechanism for investigating the ceasefire violations would be an important step.
