Can Dündar, the editor-in-chief of center-left Cumhuriyet daily newspaper of Turkey, and Erdem Gül, the Ankara correspondent of this daily, have been released from prison.

The Constitutional Court of Turkey ruled that the detention of these journalists is a violation of human rights, whereupon it ordered for their release, according to Cumhuriyet.

Dündar and Gül are charged with disclosure of state secrets.

They had informed the public about the fact that truck loads of weapons were being sent from Turkey to the terrorists in Syria.
