YEREVAN. – A cross-stone dedicated to the victims of Armenian Genocide was unveiled at the central park in Aix-en-Provence, France.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that this event became possible thanks to the joint efforts by Aix-en-Provence City Hall, the local Armenian community and Hay’s Club Armenian Association, and with the support of the Embassy of Armenia in France and the Consulate General of Armenia in Marseille.

Aix-en-Provence Mayor Maryse Joissains-Masini, who attended this ceremony, noted that the objective of unveiling this cross-stone is to keep alive the memory of the innocent victims of Armenian Genocide, and to inform future generations about the genocide committed against Armenians in 1915.

Ambassador of Armenia to France, Viguen Tchitetchian, for his part, stated that the existence of edifices that recall and shed light on the chapters of history are among the key ways to educate and inspire the future generations.
